Everything was spotlessly clean, and although the rooms are small, ours was perfectly comfortable for a stay spent mostly out exploring. The staff made the experience even better. The hotel is in a fantastic spot, near the metro and a short walk from La Rambla, with shops, places to eat, and local markets all around. It's convenient for a few days in Barcelona and good value for the money. I'd definitely stay at Hotel Annex again.

There’s no room service, so even if you stay for a couple of weeks, nobody comes to change the towels or sheets. The place was very dirty, with hair in the bathroom and all over. I don't think the floor had even been vacuumed. The location is the only reason for the two stars. It's probably the cheapest accommodation in Barcelona, and worthwhile if a great location is all you're after. There’s no reception, so you have to give your arrival time in advance and hope someone turns up. We waited outside for about an hour and a half, and none of the three phone numbers we had helped. By some miracle we found a fourth number, and a girl showed up 20 minutes later. Not recommended.

A small room, but the bed was mega comfy and the bathroom was a decent size, with a really powerful hot shower. You're right in the middle of things, with bars and the metro close by, and Ramblas is an easy walk. Would recommend as a cheap, comfortable no-frills place.

The hotel is small and the room was tiny, but it was very clean, especially the bathroom and shower. I also had a little balcony looking out over the whole street. There isn't really a receptionist like at a big hotel, but that wasn't a problem since there was always someone nearby if I needed help. I was traveling alone and felt safe. If you're coming as a couple, the lack of space might make you want to choose somewhere else.

The beds were comfortable and the hotel was clean, though dingy. The shower's hot water was erratic, and water got everywhere. An awful sewage or sulfur smell also came and went during our stay. The price for the location is what made it worthwhile. We could get anywhere in the city on foot or by public transport. It's a budget place where you get what you pay for.
