Hostal Fina

We spent a lot of time wandering around the city, and it was a relief to return to a quiet room. The room was simple but comfortable, with a cozy bed, good air conditioning and spotless cleanliness. Staff were friendly, shared helpful tips about local places and transport, and check-in was quick and well organized. There's a small common area for relaxing, planning the day or chatting with other travelers, which gives the place a welcoming feel. We found it affordable, clean and very well placed, just a short walk from attractions, cafés and metro stations. It felt like good value for the comfort, safety and charm. I'd recommend it to couples, friends or solo travelers looking for a convenient stay without spending too much.

We checked out at 11, and the staff kindly let us leave our bags and keep using the common area afterward. They were genuinely friendly and helpful. The location is amazing, right in the city with what you need just steps away. This was my first hostel stay, and my friend had picked the place. At first I was surprised by all the stairs up to reception. We also found out the building elevator is only for long-term tenants, not guests. The hostel and the rooms are small, and the bathroom was just okay, but everything was super clean, which I appreciated. It seems a good budget choice if you're fine giving up space and luxury for cleanliness, friendly staff and a great location.

I can't believe we were treated this badly. We arrived hoping to get a good night's sleep, but soon noticed one of the beds smelled like pee. This was after they had told us to give them some time to change the sheets when we arrived. The AC smelled like a sewer, and the shower leaked. We asked to change rooms, but nobody was at reception. They only replied on Booking after we sent several messages. They said we were lying and the sheets were clean, even though we'd just smelled them and they seemed to have pee on them. They wouldn't move us to another room. The worst part was that when we walked out of the hostal, someone suddenly appeared at reception. It looked like they were hiding from people coming in so they wouldn't have to serve them. Another couple was complaining about the smells at reception too. Stay away from this place. I really don't recommend it, you'd be better off sleeping on the street.

The room was basic, just as the description made clear. I noticed a few dents and small holes in the wall, but nothing major. After cleaning, there was a slight smell in the room, so I opened the window for an hour before bed and that took care of it. I was a little unsure about staying here after reading the mixed reviews, but it was the best price for the location and I was pretty pleased. The AC worked, the shower pressure was great and the bed was comfortable. It's right off La Rambla and next to a metro stop. For the price, it's pretty good.
