Hostal Hera

Being right by the waterfront, our tour bus stop, and everything else around el Born was probably the best part. The plaza outside was lovely, and rental bikes were there whenever we wanted them. The neighborhood is genuinely beautiful. Staff were always kind and checked each day whether we'd like the room cleaned. We paid extra for a balcony, but barely used it since we were usually out at a café or exploring the city. Inside, the room was small but recently redone, simple, clean, and practical. Ours had a private bathroom, somewhere to hang clothes, bedside tables, plenty of outlets, and optional daily cleaning. That felt more like a minimalist hotel than a hostel. I had expected six flights of stairs, but it was only three up to reception and our room, with another floor above. The stairs weren't a big deal without much luggage. We'd happily stay again.
