Hostal Sant Pau

The room was so cramped that the two single beds were right against each other, like a prison cell. There was no one at reception during our three-day stay. Check-in was automated with a password, and the keys were left in an open box by the entrance, which felt too risky in case someone got into the room before us. On the positive side, the hotel is near public transport, the neighborhood is quiet, and things were clean.

The owner really made my stay more pleasant. I arrived feeling unwell and asked if I could extend my booking by one night. She gave me a larger room for the same amount and even provided medicine. I don’t think I’d get that kind of care anywhere, not even at famous hotels. The place was very clean and tidy, and I’d highly recommend it. Thanks a lot!

Sara, the administrator, was lovely, kind, and so helpful. We spent four nights here with my two daughters, and absolutely loved the place and where it is. It was very clean, a four-minute walk from two metro stations, with plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. We had a whole day to explore Barcelona before our flight, and Sara let us leave our luggage somewhere safe after check-out. Comfortable and affordable, good value for money. I’d highly recommend this hostal.

The beds were clean, the memory foam pillows were lovely, and the closet was spacious, with a mini fridge. The air conditioning worked well, the staff were friendly, and we got a complimentary bottle of water. The bathroom was tiny, though, and we only got one set of keys, with no keyless entry to the room. There was no breakfast or coffee machine at reception. It was handy to have an iron, but it wasn’t properly cleaned, and there was rust and dirt inside.
