Penthouse Terrace Rambla Catalunya

The host offered almost no help after we reported that valuables worth around 6000-7000e had disappeared from our belongings. They suggested we might not have shut the door properly, and although they promised an internal investigation and a call within an hour, nothing came of it. We were staying in a place on La Rambla de Catalunya with eight people. On our first evening, we saw the cleaning service working in the apartment next door as we left for dinner. When we got back, we found items missing. There was no sign of forced entry, and enough valuables had been left behind that we didn't immediately notice what was gone. We told the doorman and the host right away, then spent four hours at the police department filing a report. When we confronted someone from the cleaning service, they said something similar had happened to the guests before us and again blamed the cleaning staff, but it couldn't be proven. A dreadful experience, and the investigation is still ongoing.
