Hotel Royal Passeig de Gracia

This was our second visit, and it was a real letdown after the first. We had booked a superior room at the back and arrived early in the morning, as many flights do. No room was ready, which we understood, and the desk agent said she'd call or text when one was available. We came back at 4:00 pm and hadn't heard anything. They said they'd upgraded us, but the room was run down, on the first floor facing the street, and very loud. The carpet squares were dirty and coming apart, and there were no tissues. For both nights, the rooftop lounge was disappointing too. We were told a private party meant it would only be open to hotel guests for two hours. We went up, ordered drinks, then found out the kitchen was closed when we tried to order food. Hotel guests should be a priority. The next morning around 8:00, my wife opened the blackout curtain while getting dressed and found a window washer right outside, with no warning from the hotel. That was completely unacceptable. We spoke with the hotel gm, who apologized and credited us $130, which didn't feel like much. It wasn't a good stay, and I'm not sure we'll return.

Staff were friendly and helpful from arrival, handled our room requests, shared useful city information, and were available whenever we needed assistance. Their commitment to making the stay comfortable and enjoyable really stood out. Hotel Royal Passeig de Gràcia is on a beautiful, elegant, central street, which made exploring Barcelona easy. We were very happy with our choice and would gladly return. The service was outstanding, and I'd highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Barcelona.

The rooftop bar made a great Caipirinha. This lovely hotel is right in the city center, with shops and some good restaurants within walking distance. There's a metro stop very close by too.

My son and I had a wonderful city break here, and we miss the place already. It's quiet and modern, with big rooms and bathrooms, electric blinds, and everything impeccably clean and safe. They leave free bottles of water, and room service was good. The rooftop bar is lovely, with food and great views of the Sagrada Familia. Getting around was easy, and the hotel is on a very prestigious road between Prada and Chanel, next to the best Gaudí houses. The clientele is diverse, and everyone was warmly welcomed and cared for by the delightful, helpful Ajay, Valerie, Marta, and the lovely porter. Thanks for making it feel like home. The only reason I wouldn't call it a five star hotel is that there's no pool or gym.
