Sant Jordi Hostels Gracia

The staff were the highlight for us. Domenico and Lucia were so sweet, always ready to help with questions, and Domenico dealt with a shower problem during our stay really well. The place also gave us a good mix of social time and room to do our own thing. Bathrooms and showers can get busy, but everything was very clean, and cooking in the kitchen was a lot of fun. We loved staying here, though we only had three days to judge one of Barcelona's nicest areas.

I keep coming back to this hostel whenever I'm in Barcelona. Gracia is a great district, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic but clean, and there's a lovely terrace, a well-equipped kitchen, and delicious breakfast. I'd just like curtains on the beds and a small update to the showers.

The room wasn't the problem. It was how the booking and cancellation were handled. When I found out my visa situation legally stopped me from making the trip, I contacted both the platform and the property right away to try to find a fair solution. I provided supporting documents and acted in good faith, but got conflicting explanations instead of clear answers. I was disappointed by the lack of empathy, flexibility, and transparency. Neither side seemed willing to take responsibility for resolving things fairly. Policies matter, but so does customer service. I'd urge future guests to read all the booking terms carefully and keep a record of every message.

The automatic room lights, which switch on and off at set times, were the one small drawback for me. Still, St Jordi Hostel Gracia is a comfortable, affordable option with clean, organized, well-equipped facilities. The lockers are handy and don't need your own padlock, which made them feel safer, and towels are supplied. Its location is a real plus, with bars, restaurants, and supermarkets nearby. Great value for enjoying the atmosphere of this much-loved Barcelona neighborhood.
