The rooms are tiny and pretty ordinary, but the hostel's central spot is what makes it work. We stayed four days and could easily pop back to rest whenever we got tired, then head out exploring again without taking the metro. Our room and our friends' room were on the second floor. The elevator is so small it only fits two, maybe three people at most. Reception staff were kind and helpful with anything we asked, from restaurant ideas and taxi calls to general advice. Our room had a large double bed, a small desk, and an open wardrobe with a few hangers. We left most clothes in our suitcase. The bathroom was small but had a decent shower, hairdryer, enough towels, and shower products. Our friends' bathroom was even tighter, they had to sit sideways on the toilet. Cleaning was done whenever we put the sign on the door, which was great. We were right by the floor entrance and reception, so people coming and going sometimes disturbed us. If you're not too fussy and are staying just a few days, this is a good way to be right in central Madrid.

It was cheap enough, and the location was excellent. The room and bathroom were both tiny, but fine for a couple of nights.

There's barely room to move around the bed, with wall taking up the rest of the space. It felt like a place for a panic attack. No air seemed to come in, and the toilet smelled like a cesspool. When we asked for another room, we got a blunt no. I asked for a refund, but was told that wasn't possible and that I had to call booking.com, even though I'd paid there. We kept asking for some kind of solution and got none. In the end we canceled, but had to pay for the first night because the room wasn't livable. In Madrid, paying a little more gets you better value.

The noise made it impossible for me to sleep properly or enjoy Madrid. I was woken up at least two or three times every night. The doors and walls are paper thin, and even the staff loudly scream and laugh while talking, which made an already awful stay worse. Clean rooms and friendly staff might sound appealing, but don't be fooled, this place felt hellish and ruined my time in the city. I lowered the service score because they showed so little respect.

I was in a single room with a tiny toilet and shower. The sink was really just a handwashing basin, totally impractical. A small, high window, about the size of a bathroom window, faced a courtyard or air shaft, leaving the room dark and stuffy. I switched on the AC vent, but it smelled moldy. The insulation was terrible, and I could hear everything next door. On my last night, a hotel guy knocked at midnight and insisted there was a flood in my room. I told them there wasn't, but they still insisted on coming in instead of moving the guests below and checking in the morning. There was no flood, of course, and the disturbance plus my noisy neighbors wrecked my sleep.
