We were really happy with this place for our trip. The staff were lovely and very patient while we used Google Translate, and the 24-hour café was so handy. It was inexpensive, we ate there every night, and the red wine was just £1.98 a glass and very good. They serve a menu del día from 1pm, popular with local people, so we didn't have to worry about meal times. Our room was a good size and peaceful. The hotel is right by a suburban train station, which made getting into Madrid easy, and we could park for free. Since local police use the café often, we felt our car was very safe. We stayed three nights and used it as a base for Segovia, Ávila, and Madrid. It was cheap and cheerful, and suited what we needed. It's beside a motorway and petrol station, so it's not the place for views or city-centre life, but it worked well for getting around.

The room was comfortable, clean, air-conditioned, and surprisingly quiet. The 24-hour cafeteria seemed useful and fairly popular, and staff helped me find an adaptor after I realized I'd forgotten mine. The TV could charge devices by USB, too. The building looks oddly corporate, wedged beside a Repsol petrol station and a few offices among the motorways, dual carriageways, and rail lines northwest of Aravaca. You can walk to Aravaca, about 25 minutes to the centre, or to Valdemarin. Building work limited access to the railway and Hipercor/El Corte Ingles.

The staff are kind and helpful, and the Wi-Fi is free and works well. The place is clean and quiet, and only a five-minute walk from the train station. It's a little far from the centre, though.
