The location was a real plus for our family: Bernabéu is a short walk away, the main sights about 20 minutes away, taxis run around the clock, and our airport ride took 25 minutes even in rush hour. The rooms were spacious, clean and quiet, with comfortable beds. Most staff were friendly and helpful, and the Level reception team was kind. We spent a long weekend at The Level, and it has the makings of a five-star hotel, but several things went wrong. One room’s air conditioning was completely broken and couldn’t be repaired, so late one evening we had to move rooms with the kids. The safe gave error messages as we tried to open and close it, which was unsettling with valuables inside. We also came back one day to find the room door open, probably left that way by housekeeping. Nothing was missing, but it was worrying, especially because the lifts don’t require key cards. There were safety problems for the children too. The tap water was dangerously hot, and one child burned his neck in the shower. The sliding bathroom doors shut freely and could catch fingers; one of our kids was hurt that way. In the Level lounge restaurant, service seemed to favor Spanish speakers. At checkout, nobody acknowledged any of these problems or even asked how our stay had gone. After all that, it felt closer to three and a half stars than five.

The people at the LEVEL are what I’ll remember most. Elvaro, Miguel, Paulina, Maria, Pelin and Laura were all so kind and welcoming that, in a way I never expected, they started to feel like family. I loved the service, the rooms and all the little details too. I originally booked two weeks, but the stay exceeded my expectations so much that I added another week while I looked for an apartment in Madrid. It was such a pleasure meeting everyone. I’ll miss you, my friends!

I don’t usually give five stars because there’s always something that could be better, but my partner and I got five-star treatment here throughout our five-night stay. When we first arrived, we couldn’t figure out where The Level check-in was. A staff member noticed we were looking around, asked if we were alright, then took my case and walked us there. I didn’t get his name, but he really went out of his way to help. Breakfast staff were outstanding, and every employee we met was a credit to the hotel and company. The Level’s private lounge was wonderfully relaxing, with drinks and snacks available all day. Spirits and liquor are served each evening from 6pm-9pm. Daniel, I think that was his name, gave incredible service and was such a lovely person. He’s from Caracas Venezuela, and I hope he gets to achieve his dreams. From arrival to departure we felt welcome and well looked after. Madrid is a beautiful city, and we’ll definitely return to this hotel. You do need to book The Level service to use the private lounge.

Good value for a five-star hotel. The elegant rooms are very well furnished and have all the comforts and amenities. Breakfast has plenty of choice: there’s an international option, or a smaller, quieter one where you can order your preferred eggs from the menu. It’s also well placed, just a few minutes from Metro lines 10 and 1 at Cuzco or Tetuan.

I’ve been coming back for years, and I’d give this place ten stars if I could. The hotel is beautiful, with quiet rooms, and the staff are both friendly and professional. There are lots of restaurants and markets within walking distance, and Corte Inglés and other shops are about a mile and a half away. I can’t recommend it enough.
