Indico Rock Hotel Mallorca - Adults Only

I couldn't wait to leave, from the minute I arrived. The room was dirty, with peanuts on the floor behind the door, not great if you have an allergy. It was bare too, with no bedspreads like in the pictures and not even a bottle of water. The decor looked dated and run down, and the place was just dirty. I was all inclusive but couldn't get a glass with ice before 11 each day. The rooftop bar was closed, with no music, and staff were moving people off seats and loungers to put them away. I understand they close for winter, but there were still quite a few people up there and no atmosphere. To get a drink, you had to take the elevator down to the ground floor. They'd packed away the ashtrays by my second day, and wouldn't give me one. I asked about playing music upstairs and was told no because they were closing in three days. But they were still open, and I was a paying customer. The bar manager was really rude. I don't drink, I just wanted a soft drink with ice, and was told no. There was a fight in one of the balcony rooms overlooking the ground-floor pool, and someone threw cigarettes into the pool. People told staff, but it wasn't cleaned up. I never saw the nightclub because it was closed. The food was disgusting and cold, hardly edible, with very little variety in the hot dishes. Staff didn't offer our included drinks. As a solo traveller, I left my plate to get a drink and they took it away, even though I hadn't finished. My phone and room key were beside it. Nothing but disappointment. I won't be back. Definitely not a four-star hotel, maybe one or two stars.

The only snag was communication with security and the pool lifeguard. They spoke Spanish only, not a word of English, which made things a little difficult. Otherwise, I had a very positive stay at the Indico Rock Hotel in Palma de Mallorca. The service was fantastic, especially from the lovely, friendly cleaning staff and the wonderful reception team. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choice, and the hotel met the high standards I'd expect from a four-star place. I'd happily recommend it to anyone visiting Palma.

We ended up here after a problem with the hotel we'd originally booked. It was clean and tidy, the buffet was amazing, and the staff were friendly. The downside was that both the pools were very small and the bars weren't open during their advertised hours. I'd planned to spend a day by the pool with my book, but couldn't get anything to eat or drink, so I had to leave when I didn't want to.

Lena helped us and she's amazing. We also loved the food setup: if we go out for dinner, we can have lunch here and choose so much for 25 per person that I'm full. And if we stay in for dinner, there are loads of choices for lunch, snacks, and dinner too. Such a great idea, I'd love to see it more often :)
