We should have booked a few more nights at La Cabane de Millau. It sits all by itself in its own patch of woods, with a private entrance you can lock, and the viaduc de Millau looks amazing from there. The fittings are high quality, and the modern bathroom has a lovely shower with massage jets. The windows are especially cool: you can lift them into the roof and feel completely surrounded by nature. I can’t recommend this treehouse enough.

The setting is lovely, close to town but tucked into the forest, and the view is magnificent. The treehouse is thoughtfully designed, with blinds that block the morning light and windows you can open wide for fresh air among the trees. We watched paragliders and saw the Millau Viaduct, and even spotted squirrels from the terrace. Our kids and dog loved staying there, and we did too. Thanks to the owner for welcoming pets. It lacks some of the usual rental features, like a stovetop, but that didn’t spoil our three happy days in the trees. Arrival was easy, with a text and an explanatory video. We highly recommend it!
Inside, the cabin was clean and laid out really well, but the outside areas were disappointing. The path was overgrown with dead leaves and brambles, the wooden steps were wobbly and unusable, and the entrance fence was leaning dangerously. Vegetation also blocked most of the view, leaving only a glimpse of the Millau Viaduct through the branches. Clearing the undergrowth would help. For the price, it felt like poor value. A shame.
