Hotel Prince Monceau

The rooms were filthy, and the receptionist took my phone to enter the WiFi password. Meanwhile, he wrote a five-star Google review himself, which has since been deleted. It’s probably safe to assume staff are writing the other five-star reviews on guests’ phones without their knowledge. Outrageous place and receptionist, 100% scam. Don’t go there.

The photos don’t fully show what it’s really like. The price is cheap, but our room had just one working socket, nowhere near the bed. There was fungus in the shower, and the elevator wasn’t working. It was unusual for two girls to haul suitcases up the stairs in the dark. The administrators were cute and wonderful, though I don’t know their names, and I thank them very much. I can’t recommend the place. Even if it’s not expensive, it should meet a standard of quality. Please do something about it.

Poor value for money. I paid over €100 for a tiny room that was set up for one, even though I booked for two. They also took €95 from my card and then rejected it as invalid. It was basically a cancellation fee, even though I’d confirmed my stay. The desk person called it a damage guarantee, but Booking.com clearly says that fee is €50. Draw your own conclusions.

The atmosphere is peaceful, and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. It felt like a lot of thought had gone into the comfort and refinement of every detail. I had a truly delightful stay and would gladly return.
