La Verrière is spectacular. I had my welcome tea in the glass-roofed atrium, a lovely high-end space. The main restaurant, Café de la Paix, has an equally impressive atmosphere and is worth visiting even if you’re not staying at the hotel. The tasting menu is a bit pricey, though I think the setting and food quality make it worth it. The rooms are comfortable, with traditional Parisian elegance that doesn’t feel tired. The gym was smaller than I expected for a hotel this size, and I didn’t get to try the spa. The rest of the hotel’s facilities are top-tier. It’s a beautifully decorated place with a classic French luxury feel, and seemed much more polished and better maintained than other historic hotels in the region. If you want a luxurious, quintessential historic Paris experience, this is the spot.

The glass roof, greenery, and calm elegance of La Verrière make a lovely setting to slow down and enjoy breakfast. The food was generous and well prepared, with fresh pastries, good bread, and nicely done dishes. Service stayed warm, attentive, and professional, with good attention to detail, and we felt welcome the whole time. We arrived near the end of breakfast service and ordered just before it finished, but nobody rushed us. We stayed comfortably and eventually moved on to lunch. The pain perdu came quite cold, but when we mentioned it, they reheated it without any issue. Even if you arrive close to the end of breakfast, they let you take your time. It was such a pleasant experience at La Verrière, InterContinental Paris Le Grand that I came back two days later. Refined and relaxed, and highly recommended.

We stayed five nights and the experience exceeded our expectations. Ikram greeted us at check-in and was outstanding and professional. The classic opera room was small but really cozy, while the junior suite was very elegant. Room service was on point, though we found the food inconsistent; the presentation was excellent. We also enjoyed drinks at the grand bar and winter garden cafe. Big thanks to Nicolas from check-in for looking after us, and to Burak.

The service at Intercontinental Paris Le Grand was top notch. Elliot handled our check-in and checkout and was such a joy, helpful, kind, and thoughtful with his recommendations. My family and I had an amazing stay, and we won’t hesitate to come back on our next trip to Paris. The rooms were beautiful, with very high ceilings, and we lucked out with views of the Opera that I could have looked at for hours. It was also a perfect location for getting around on foot or by metro, with everything right there.

The room was far too small for the price and the TV looked ancient, though that was the least of the problems. There was no soundproofing at all, and I could clearly smell my neighbor’s food. The shower was very old and clogged, so I had to stand in the bathtub, which was dirty and drained badly. They had put out a non-slip mat, a good idea, but it was covered in hair and dirt. These are basic standards, not luxury extras, and careless details ruined the stay. I won’t be coming back.
