The ribs and the turkey roast special were the standouts for me, and the chilli was tasty too, though thinner than I usually expect. The Thai red curry wasn't very spicy, but its sauce was thin, and the chicken seemed pre-cooked while the peppers were still underdone. We had a pleasant evening in nice surroundings, with good service and food, though neither was outstanding. I'd call it above average, but I'd definitely suggest trying the Cumberland Inn across the road.

The food was excellent and good value, which feels harder to find these days. We had Sunday lunch, and the staff were so friendly and attentive, especially with our two young children, and made us feel welcome. The dining room was lovely with the fire going. We'd absolutely recommend it and plan to come back.

The steak pie and nachos were both delicious when we came for dinner on Christmas Eve. It was quiet at first, then got busy. Everyone working there was friendly and welcoming. I'd recommend it to anyone staying nearby.

A really good one-night stay, with every member of staff doing a great job. Our border collie came along and had a quiet, garden-view room that welcomed dogs. There are plenty of good walks nearby, and we'd definitely stay again.

The three of us started with broccoli and Stilton soup, which was amazing, then had lovely roast dinners with plenty of lovely gravy. Sunday lunch was brilliant, and the service felt personal and was great. Thank you.
