The people working there were lovely, and our room was clean, roomy, and had comfortable sheets. The place is older but seems well looked after. We stayed one night in room 17, and the creaky floor was one of several annoyances. The shower was tiny and awkward, and the curtain kept letting water onto the floor. Morning light came straight in because the curtains weren't blackout. There’s no lift, so luggage has to go up narrow flights of stairs. We also had no hot water until we complained, and were told the boiler had been switched off deliberately. No hair dryer was supplied either. It was an okay stay thanks to the clean room and friendly welcome, but there are a few quirks to be ready for.

I stayed for a little while during renovations at my flat. The price was very reasonable for a budget hotel, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The free WiFi wouldn't connect, which was my only real problem. I enjoyed the stay and would come back if I needed to.

The staff were friendly and the room had been cleaned as well as possible, but the place needs a lot of work. I was in single room 6 for one night. It felt dated and in urgent need of repair, with a non-working radiator and a very old bathroom where the toilet seat brackets were missing. The whole room smelled damp. We didn't see the bar open, and I can't tell whether the hotel has recently changed owners.
