Citadel Apartments St Pancras

We found St Pancras Inn a really good option for a couple’s trip to London and would stay again. It’s about a 10-minute walk from King’s Cross station, with plenty of restaurants and a Tesco nearby, which was handy. The rooms are modern and very clean, though a little small, and suit a short city break well. Staff were incredibly nice and helpful throughout, and made us feel welcome.

I made a clear mistake with this booking and asked to cancel just 20 minutes after placing it, but they still won’t cancel without charging the full £187. It says a lot about how they run the business, choosing to take that money from a guest who will now dislike the place and has to stay there regardless. Businesses that operate this way end up doing badly.

The bathroom was lovely and cleverly designed for such a small space. The shower was relaxing, with good pressure and a choice of rain head or handheld, where you can adjust the pressure. My single bed, the twin size for American travellers, was much softer and more comfortable than the one in the four-star hotel I’d been staying at all week on a work trip. Honestly, it was the most comfortable thing I’d sat on in five days. This is a small, affordable hotel for a night near King’s Cross, St Pancras International and the Tube. It’s not really aimed at people on vacation, though it could work for an affordable London stay while exploring. My room was small, as expected, and I’d booked ahead because I arrived late and just needed somewhere for the night. The gentleman at reception helped with my bag and went out of his way for me when I was incredibly tired. The staff are professional, kind and helpful, a real credit to the place. There’s no phone in the room, but if you call the front desk on your own phone, they’ll bring you a hairdryer. Breakfast is available for a fee, though I didn’t try it. A bottle of water was waiting in the room when I checked in, which I appreciated. I don’t have personal photos, but I found an online picture of my exact room, and it was just what I expected. The location is perfect, but the room was a nightmare. It had no windows, and with the AC not working, the temperature reached 26-27°C. It was so cramped I had to watch out for hitting my head on the wall or ceiling. They tried to help, but the guy didn’t know much about AC. If it’s cold, I’d recommend it. In warm weather, you’ve been warned. It’s extremely expensive and not worth the price, with no service beyond reception.
