Premier Inn London Canary Wharf - Westferry

My partner booked this for me, but I soon found out it wasn't particularly close to Canary Wharf. It's about a 20-minute walk from Canary Wharf Station, and that felt like a lot with luggage, walking slowly, or when your son has sent you the wrong way. There were no shops or nice cafes nearby. The first room was small, the TV didn't work, and a strange buzzing started the second morning. It was still there the following evening. I mentioned it and was kindly upgraded, and the service was good, but I wouldn't stay again.

I was here on a business trip, and the hotel is in a great spot, close to Canary Wharf with Westferry DLR right in front. From there you can connect easily to the Elizabeth Line for Heathrow or get to London City Airport. The food service was good, the restaurant meals were satisfying, and the staff were very polite. I just wish the breakfast buffet had more options for hotel guests. There was no phone for room service, so for anything I needed I had to go downstairs.

There are impressive views over the local area from the higher floors, and the bed was as comfortable as you'd expect. The hotel has a spacious ground-floor bar and a large restaurant on the first floor, and being right outside a DLR station made it ideal for my midweek stay. It offers what you'd expect from the chain. The hotel was very clean overall, though I found quite a few hairs on the bedding and in the bathroom when I arrived. The main frustration was not having enough staff. At the restaurant you could wait ages to be seated, and since staff split their time between reception and the lobby bar, that bar could be left unattended for long stretches. Everyone was super friendly and helpful despite being so busy. Without those long waits it would have been perfect for my needs, but I'd still consider it if I needed to be in the area.

We had a great weekend at the Premier inn West Ferry and will probably return later this year. Our room on the 18th floor had a brilliant view, and the comfortable night's sleep was what you'd expect at Premier Inn. The reception and catering staff were first class. Right next to the DLR, it was easy to get into the city, and the restaurant was brilliant. Breakfast had a nice choice, and the food was warm. Already looking forward to coming back.
