The volunteer gardening group clearly puts a lot of care into the beautiful gardens at Vauxhall Park. Everything looks vibrant and tidy, and their work gives the place a real community feel. It’s a lovely, well-kept green space and a genuinely enjoyable place to spend time.

There’s plenty of room to sit, spread out, or enjoy a picnic, and the atmosphere is peaceful enough for reading or relaxing. Families will find lots of play equipment for children, and the little model village is a charming feature, with miniature homes that kids and adults can both enjoy. Vauxhall Park is a quiet, clean place with plenty of character, about a 12 minute walk from Vauxhall Station, so it’s an easy escape from the city buzz.

Vauxhall Park feels exceptionally well maintained, and I’d rank it among Greater London’s best small parks. It keeps most of its original layout of paths and landscaping, alongside newer features like the playground, café, all-weather game courts, large lawn, and contemporary lavender garden. It opened as a public park in 1890 following promotion by prominent social reformers, philanthropists, and society hostesses.

I come here regularly to walk, relax, or exercise, and there are plenty of paths that branch off in different directions. The fenced lavender garden is beautiful and has lots of seats. Kids enjoy the mini houses and the big play area, with plenty of nearby seating for parents and carers. In summer the fountain is well maintained, and children love it.
