There’s no lift to the top floor, and the spiders in the hallways cost it a star. The hotel itself is clean enough and the front desk staff are okay, but the vending machine never worked. Free parking was decent, and there’s a lake across the way. Next door, the Hungry Horse used to be great for food, but I waited an hour for cheesecake and eventually got a refund. The ale choice was poor, and the lack of cleanliness puts me off eating inside.

The lake view is beautiful, and the paths around it are lovely for a walk. Staff were wonderful, helpful and kind. Breakfast was very good and great value.

The rooms had extremely poor, unreliable internet, and phone reception was poor too. Breakfast was very basic, with limited options that weren’t replenished regularly. When we asked for things to be refilled, we felt like a burden instead of welcome guests. The atmosphere felt unfriendly and uninviting, particularly in the breakfast area.

Sandra and Sue gave excellent service in the restaurant at breakfast, which I really appreciated. The room was just as expected, with a comfortable bed, workspace, good shower and fittings. Free parking is a real bonus in MK. I had a great experience and recommend it.

I really enjoyed the walk around the lake, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room felt cosy but was still spacious, and the bed was comfortable, though I would’ve preferred a firmer pillow. The shower pressure was low and the water temperature kept changing. I’ll definitely visit again.
