Friendly staff, clean throughout, strong wifi, and only a few hundred feet from the train station without being noisy. It’s a good choice if you want somewhere simple and inexpensive to hang your hat. Just keep in mind the amenities are only adequate. My room had one outlet, was small by US standards, as was the TV, and had no writing desk. Checkout is at 10AM, and staff aren’t always on site. Still, it’s just right for an inexpensive stay.

DO NOT STAY HERE UNTIL THEY GET NEW MANAGEMENT. I only called to make a booking, and the woman who answered had a horrific attitude. When I asked to book, she just said “no.” I politely asked why, and she responded vilely, saying she wouldn’t have answered if she’d known I was going to ask something so stupid, because she thought it was an emergency this late. I’d never been there and assumed that if reception answered the phone, it would be 24-hour service. She has no idea how to speak to people and is a terrible business woman. I haven’t even stayed there, but she’s already put me off completely. Don’t bother unless you’re happy feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable.

The place had a nasty damp smell throughout, and the spare room I ended up with was one of the grottiest places I’ve ever had to sleep. I would never stay here again. It was dirty, very overpriced, and completely unprofessional. They hadn’t written down my phone booking, so the person who answered the door wasn’t expecting me. The location may be convenient, but the hosts were unfriendly.

Great location, about a 5 min walk to the train station and 5 min to said business school, plus 10 min to Oxford Castle and Westgate mall. The rooms were clean, though the shower unit in mine was very small.
