The breakfast room was a highlight, a huge, recently renovated space that felt like a country cottage kitchen, only much bigger. There was loads to choose from, and the poached eggs and eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly. We also wandered through the sitting rooms and out onto the terraces. We were welcomed by a lovely young man who had our room ready at 1pm and took care of our bags, so we could quickly head back to our taxi and catch our booked tour in Oxford town centre. Later, we loved seeing the beautifully decorated building on our way up to a spacious, nicely furnished privilege family room. There was even a handwritten welcome card and a box of delicious local cream fudge. Dinner in the bar and dining area was delicious, with friendly, attentive service. The hotel buildings and gardens are delightful, the staff are lovely, and the food was excellent. It’s also a short walk to the bus stop for Oxford town centre.

The room was quiet, clean, spacious, and well equipped, and breakfast was amazing. The staff made the place, especially the lovely woman serving breakfast. We took the bus into Oxford from a stop about five minutes away, and the trip was easy. Iffley is a lovely village too. You can walk to the Thames and Iffley Lock, and the church is well worth seeing if that interests you. Its architecture amazed us. We’d definitely stay again.

We spent four nights here and felt welcome throughout. The location works really well for Oxford: it’s a 45-minute walk along the river towpath, or you can take the no. 3/3A bus straight to the centre. Oxford is a beautiful city and well worth a visit. Everyone was friendly and helpful, from Liz looking after us and our room to the breakfast team, especially Wendy, and the manager and reception staff. Breakfast was lovely, with good choices and everything we needed. Many thanks, we’ll be back 😊

We had a lovely stay in the village of Iffley, with easy access to Oxford on the 3 or 3A bus. The staff made us feel welcome. Our first room was rather dark, so we asked to move, and the gentleman at reception was very helpful in finding us another. Breakfast had plenty of choice. Wendy was especially kind, getting my sister-in-law her particular tea and extra water.

I was the DJ for an 18th birthday party here on 30 May 2026, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly. The function room looked beautiful, the bar was well stocked, and everything from the decor and drinks to the food was at a very high standard. I’d gladly come back for another event.
