Such a friendly, welcoming and clean hotel, with a brilliant breakfast. The staff were more helpful and friendly than anywhere I’ve stayed before. My room was a good size and really nice, with tea and coffee facilities, an iron and ironing board, and a hair dryer. I had a dog friendly room, and they’d thought of so many little details: treats, a bowl and a lovely dog bed. My dog slept in it more than in his own bed at home. The staff made him just as welcome as us humans. Just lovely!

We had a lovely Sunday lunch after our hosts at the Treetop hideout, where we were staying for the weekend, recommended The Fleece. It was easy to find and only a 10-minute drive away. The place was busy but had a lovely atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious and good quality. Would highly recommend.

We’ve been twice, which says a lot for us! It’s really handy for the sights and walks nearby. Dinner and breakfast were both fabulous, well cooked and nicely presented. The lift wasn’t working when we visited, so we had quite a lug up the stairs with our cases. Our room happened to be the furthest from reception, too. Still, I’m happy to wholeheartedly recommend this place.

Just reviewing the restaurant. We had breakfast recently, and the menu had a good range. We tried the vegetarian and American options, and both were excellent. The coffee was good too. Service was very attentive, though the food took over 30 minutes to arrive. It was fairly busy with residents and walk-ins at the time.

We came with high expectations from the pictures and reviews, and weren’t disappointed. The staff were friendly, polite and very helpful from start to finish. We stayed in the Swale room, which was comfortable and well equipped, with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast and dinner were tasty and plentiful. The roast was probably the best pound for pound we’ve eaten out. Thanks so much, we’ll be back.
