Hostel Bon Voyage

The rooms were filthy and the service was appalling. We’d booked three nights, but the receptionist treated us terribly because we hadn’t paid in advance. Booking.com had told us to pay on arrival, so I don’t understand the issue. There was hair and a white stain on the disgusting bed, and the sheet was torn. The room smelled of damp and cigarette smoke. The bathroom was very dirty, with mold in several places, and the floor hadn’t been washed. I could feel dirt on my bare feet. The Wi-Fi didn’t work in the room at all, only at reception. The receptionist warned us about “noisy Muslim neighbors.” At 2:00 AM, they started fighting and breaking things. They were staying at the hotel, so why were they still there despite the known problems? The room’s aesthetic finish was awful, too. Booking.com granted our request for a refund for the next two nights, but management acted in incredibly bad faith, and we left without our money. When you’re at fault, you should keep quiet and apologize. I’ve honestly never seen such terrible service and amenities.

The only good thing is the location. There are plenty of decent hotels nearby for a small fee, and it’s better to pay a little more and stay somewhere decent. This place is hard to call a hotel: the grounds are neglected, and the rooms are terrible and unsanitary. The conditions seem bad enough that you could catch at least a fungus, and it’s frightening to think what else. The photo shows the room we were told had been cleaned and was ready for us. I do not recommend it to anyone.

The food was delicious, desserts included, and the atmosphere felt really pleasant. The staff were attentive too. I’ll definitely come back ❤️
