Tamarisi Old Tbilisi

I loved how quiet the setting was, even though all the main sights, historic spots, and cozy cafés were just a short walk away. The hotel sits in a lovely corner of Old Tbilisi, and it felt welcoming from the minute I arrived. My room was comfortable and spotless, with tasteful decor, traditional touches, and a lovely balcony view. The design had a warm, authentic feel that suited Tbilisi. The staff were kind and helpful, always smiling and offering good suggestions for places to eat and explore. Their hospitality made the stay special. It's a peaceful, beautiful place to stay, and I can't wait to return.

The location was handy for restaurants and activities, and the room was cozy and spacious. Unfortunately, that was where the good parts ended. I booked through booking for €170. The owner pushed hard for cash, and when she realized I didn't have any, she charged €10 more than the expected amount. There was no housekeeping from Saturday to Thursday. When they finally came to leave clean towels, they threw away the slippers and left the door open with the key still inside. When I returned the key, the owner accused us of breaking the toilet lid, even though it had already been broken when she showed us the room. I tried to explain politely, but she kept insisting, and I ended up paying 20 GEL. She said she'd replace it after taking the money, but never did. It felt like a cheap way to get a little extra from guests. The owner and another woman were constantly yelling, and the room had very little privacy: its three windows faced the corridor, so anyone could look in. The bathroom was clean, but sometimes it filled with a sewer smell.

We spent seven days here on holiday, and the stay was better than I expected. The area is peaceful, yet a short walk over a bridge takes you into the heart of the city. Ms. Tamara, the owner, made a real difference. She was sweet and friendly, always ready to help with whatever we needed, and made sure we felt comfortable and at home.

We stayed in August 2025, and I especially recommend the huge family room, with its two large rooms and high ceilings. There are coffee makers, a fridge, linens, and towels in the rooms. The hotel is near the parliament building and close to the old city center, just across the street and one street down. There's no elevator, but that was fine for me. Tamara, the owner, has made a comfortable hotel out of her family's home, where her family lived for centuries. She's a wonderful woman, and we really appreciated her hospitality. X Nika
