Tbilisi Boutique Hotel

Everything was easy to reach on foot, including the subway and the Christmas market, so the location was great. The price was decent, but the rest of the stay had problems. The bathroom floor stayed wet because the shower leaked everywhere, apparently due to its design. One staff member was pretty rude when checking us in, which got things off to a bad start. Breakfast wasn't good: the green eggs were overcooked, everything else was cold, and the coffee machine was only okay. The offerings were the same and not very good. We could also hear whoever was walking around upstairs. Great spot, but little else made it worthwhile.

The bed was comfortable, breakfast was great, and the amenities were good for the price. The WiFi kept cutting out, though. In December 2024, I also heard a receptionist have a long conversation with a guest in the lounge about the political protests. They dismissed the courage of people standing up for their rights and freedoms. If someone has nothing good to say about a person or movement, they should change the subject.

We booked two rooms with balconies for a family trip: one for an elderly couple, the other for a couple with a pregnant woman, a one-and-a-half-year-old, and a stroller. After driving around for half an hour trying to find the hotel, we arrived at 6 a.m. The hotel was tucked away down a narrow, sloping alley with a rough road of broken, crumbling cobblestones. Our car nearly got damaged each time we drove down it. The building looked more like a hostel than a hotel, was unimpressive from outside, sat in a residential area, and had no parking. Inside, we were shocked there was no elevator. The dining room was on floor -1 and our rooms were on the second floor. We asked about the baby's crib, but the receptionist said both rooms were the same and there was no crib at all, saying, “the baby will sleep with you in bed.” There was no baby bathtub either. The hotel isn't accessible for elderly people, pregnant women, babies, children, or strollers. Nobody helped us with our suitcases or the stroller. After a lot of arguing, they moved us to first-floor rooms the next morning, but those had no balcony, and we received no compensation. Breakfast was horrible. The hard-boiled eggs were undercooked and the shells stuck to them; the bread wasn't fresh, there was little variety, and it was the same food every day. Most of it was meat-based, so it wasn't suitable for vegetarians. During our week there, they made the beds but never changed the sheets. They barely provided toilet paper, and mosquitoes in the rooms made sleeping uncomfortable. The reception staff were unfriendly and the service was terrible. I don't know who gave this place four stars; we wouldn't give it even one. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

We only stayed one day, but the hotel was lovely and well worth it. The hospitality was really nice. It's near Rustaveli metro station and an easy walk from the main road.
