The view here is unlike anything I’ve seen, and it took my breath away every time. Thira was a short walk away and the sunsets were incredible. When I told the staff that family members on a cruise wanted to visit for the day and use our private pool, they were accommodating and let them hang out at the hotel without charging us. I’ve been charged for that elsewhere before. Even so, my partner and I stayed four nights and couldn’t wait to leave. Maybe it was just our room, but the “private” jet tub wasn’t private at all. The room next door also had a jet tub, with only a day bed and a thin bush between us. On our first day, the shower and sink both ran yellow-brown water. My partner brought a staff member to see it. He said the hotel was running out of hot water and that he needed to call someone. When we asked what we could do right then, he told us to let it run for over half an hour, and if it still wasn’t clear, to shower it reception. We paid almost $3,000 AUD for the room, so that answer from a “luxury” hotel really upset me. The water stayed that way for three days before it ran clear. One day, room service didn’t refill the toilet paper. That was fine, so I politely asked reception for a couple of rolls. They said they’d bring them to our room, but after 30 minutes nothing had arrived. I went back and asked if I could just take them then. They seemed surprised I hadn’t received any and handed them over straight away, which they could have done initially. An hour later, a room service lady arrived with more toilet paper. It may seem like a small thing, but I think it could have been handled better. The breakfast staff also felt cold. They weren’t unfriendly, but the same boy and girl were usually talking to each other, and the girl was often sitting on the countertop as we passed. They didn’t greet us until we spoke first. I didn’t want to write this review, and it’s probably the first bad one I’ve ever written. I only wish I’d read the reviews before booking.

Stepping out of the room, we were met with breathtaking views. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and private, and the pool area is neat and tidy, an easy place to unwind. The staff are really friendly. I couldn’t recommend this beautiful place more.

The staff were warm, attentive, and ready to help with anything we needed, and I’d absolutely stay here again. The beautifully designed rooms and breathtaking views made our stay at Akra Suites & Spa Santorini incredible. Its location is close to everything, but still peaceful enough to relax and enjoy Santorini. Highly recommend!
