Akis Hotel

A sweet kitty came to visit me on the balcony, and I fell in love with her. I bought her some food and gave her fresh water. To the next guests in my room, please be kind to her. She’s blind in one eye, doesn’t like being held or touched on the face, and will greet you gently with a flirty meow. The room was in excellent condition, and the pool was amazing. I didn’t expect this from a 2-star hotel, but in my book it’s 5-star because of the great room, friendly staff and how close everything is. The service was immaculate, and I was welcomed with open arms.

The rooms were spacious and modern without a big price tag, and the location was great: close to the beach, shops, bakery and laundromat. Compared with other 2-star hotels I’ve stayed in, this place is a hidden gem, even though Google and hotels.com list it as 2 stars. Akis, his wife and the new receptionist were all so lovely and welcoming. They made our visit to Kamari wonderful. Five-star staff! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mr Akis was kind and ready to help with anything, including suggestions for places to visit. The house cat is extremely cute. The location is wonderful, close to the beach, car and motorbike rental, bus station, markets, bakery and restaurant. The rooms have the basics you need on holiday: a nice bed, clean linen and towels, daily cleaning, fridge, AC, hair drier and a pleasant terrace for meals. If we come back to Santorini, we’d definitely choose this place again. ☺️

It’s near the beach, shops, bars and restaurants, but there are plenty of better places to stay. I didn’t stay here myself, my relatives did, and they had a lot of problems, especially with the air conditioning, which is a must in Greece at that time of year. It may work if you’re on a tight budget. Also, there’s no swimming pool.
