The caldera views were awesome, and the room we eventually got was stunning, a dream, with the private balcony promised in the booking. But our first night was a very different story. We’d booked the honeymoon suite with a caldera view, private jacuzzi, and private balcony, but were given a small, very humid room with a private jacuzzi and shared terrace. Instead of one double bed, it had two mattresses joined by a top cover. We complained because it wasn’t what we’d paid for, and it was our honeymoon, so we wanted a perfect stay. The next day they sent a very kind housekeeper who spoke very little English, and she eventually agreed to give us the room we wanted. We never received compensation for that first night, even though it clearly wasn’t the room we’d paid for. We tried to get a refund, but they said we weren’t right. We’d paid for the most expensive room, and the one they gave us on the second night was clearly it. It’s impossible to say the two rooms cost the same. All in all, a beautiful place with bad customer service and bad facilities in some rooms.

The room was great and the view incredible, despite this being one of the cheapest properties in Oia, Santorini. The many steep stairs out of the room make it a poor fit if you’re traveling with children or older people. It could be good for a romantic getaway. I’ve heard tourists flock to the balconies at sunset, so there may be little privacy in summer. We went in winter, when Oia was completely empty. It was very windy, but peaceful. The hotel’s service could improve a lot, since we had to wait far too long just to check in. On the plus side, it’s open year round.

The sunsets and caldera views were incredible. I’m going to book the same Suite again. The location couldn’t be more perfect for a stay, and watching one of the best sunsets ever from the balcony with a glass of wine, or from the warm Jacuzzi pool, was really special. In the morning, waking up to the beautiful sea view from the bedroom made it even better. Communication with the staff was really good, and they helped carry the bags. There aren’t too many stairs to climb to reach the Main Street up top. It’s just a 10 minute walk from the bus stop and all the major restaurants.

I could watch the sunset right from my terrace, so there was no need to go anywhere or queue with other tourists for iconic photos. The location is hard to beat, and the views from the apartment are amazing. Big thanks to Olek for helping carry my luggage through la caldera. He’s a real treasure among the Finesse staff.

The spacious rooms all have decent views, and we enjoyed our time in Oia. You’re mainly paying for the cliffside location and scenery, though, since the property feels dated and the service isn’t what I’d expect from a nice hotel. It’s one of the more affordable suites there, and the shared patio has plenty of tables and chairs plus a clean hot tub. Check-in is at the tourist information office across from the bus station, and it doesn’t stay open all night. Tell them ahead of time if you’ll arrive late or leave early. At those hours, there probably won’t be staff to help with bags, and getting from the suite to transport is a long walk. Room layouts vary, especially the bathrooms. Avoid the tiny closet-style toilet and shower combo. We had that for our first night, and it was the worst (see photos). It’s not a luxury stay and the service isn’t top notch, but the price is reasonable.
