La Casa De Caldera

My father became ill before our planned stay, so I contacted the hotel four weeks in advance about cancelling my two nights in the Deluxe suite. Despite the situation and that much notice, they refused to refund my hard-earned money. When I contacted management, Elfi, the hotel manager, said it ''was not possible to speak to the owner''. I was hoping for some understanding or flexibility, but got callous responses instead. Elfi repeatedly stated aggressively, ''its the hotels policy not to refund''. I understand that hotels have cancellation rules to protect themselves from last-minute cancellations, but there should be room for compassion when given a month's notice. It was disheartening to see so little empathy from a business in an industry that prides itself on comfort and hospitality. I expected basic human decency from a respectable establishment. The hotel seemed more concerned with financial gain than its guests' satisfaction or well-being. I hope they rethink their approach and prioritize guests' health and welfare in the future. Until then, I'd advise people to stay elsewhere, somewhere kindness and empathy still matter. Safe travels :)

The room could use somewhere to hang wet swimwear and perhaps a chest of drawers, but otherwise this was a 10/10 stay. We were in the Executive Suite for 4 nights, and it was comfortable and clean, just as described on the website. The bed was massive and comfortable, and we loved the pillows. The location worked well, about a 5-minute walk from the busiest part of Oia, with not too many steps to the main road and supermarket. Niki welcomed us and was around every morning to check that everything was in order. Elfi also kept in touch regularly by whatsapp. We ordered breakfast to the room one morning, though we ate it in our private Jacuzzi. It was lovely and good value compared with the usual prices at bars around Oia. Casa de Caldera is such good value for money. We'll definitely recommend it to family and friends.

We had four people in our family and the superior suite was just right for us. The suite was beautifully designed, with great soundproofing and climate control. Staff were exceptional, especially Nick, who helped us a lot. It's in a quiet part of Oia, away from the crowds, but still in an excellent location and very close to Perivolos market.

We left after the first night because we were disgusted by how dirty the double room was, and had to find somewhere else to stay. It didn't look like the website photos. The bedsheets had yellow spots, including on the pillow, and the mattress cover had a blood spot. The toothbrush glass was dirty, with water and black mold or something inside. The WC brush was old and dirty. There were spiders and dirt built up near the wifi-router and on the walls. There was no box-shower, no table on the terrace for breakfast, and the glass shelf in the toilet was broken. The room was very humid and smelled bad. We spoke with Nick, sent him all the pictures, and asked for a refund for the last two nights we didn't spend there. We didn't get any money back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!
