Villa Ariadni

We had a fantastic view of the Aegean from the house terrace. There was ground coffee and a filter coffee machine, and the host shared lots of useful information.

The owners were helpful and arranged airport transfers, plus luggage carrying into the villa for a small fee. Our private outdoor sitting area also had great views. Inside, the place was spotless and organized, with AC, a clean bathroom, and excellent shower pressure. The kitchen had a stovetop built into the toaster oven. WiFi was available, though the speed varied. Villa Ariadni is well placed for exploring Oia, with cafes, shops, restaurants and attractions with great views all within walking distance. I stayed one night and had an excellent experience.

There was no breakfast included, but the room had a microwave and electric kettle, which made the stay pleasant. It was clean and had a comfortable sofa.

I stayed two nights, and this was the worst hotel I’ve been in for 15 years. It felt more like an Airbnb, with no onsite support, and the facilities were very basic. There were broken tiles, and you had to switch on the water heater 30 minutes before showering. The soap dispenser didn’t work properly, and you had to hold the showerhead the whole time. There were no tea bags or creamer in the room. I booked through Expedia, and they shouldn’t list this property as a hotel. I wouldn’t give it more than 2 stars. Book here if you want to ruin your vacation.
