Getting into town takes some planning since the apartment is a distance away: you need a sea taxi or passenger boat, and if the water is rough, the boats won’t run, leaving a 30-minute walk. Still, we had a lovely week at Hydravista. Trevor was friendly and helpful, and the apartment was beautiful, elegantly furnished, and well equipped. It’s close to a great beach and within walking distance of three taverns, so the stay was very much worth it.

Hydra has a slower pace, with walking, water taxis, and donkeys as the ways to get around. We loved the walk into the main town, about 3 kms away ?, with great restaurants along the coast. A new path had been built since our visit, which was meant to make that route even easier in 2017. We spent two weeks at HydraVista and found it a terrific place to switch off from everyday chaos. The accommodation is beautifully finished, comfortable, and convenient, with sea views. Trevor was a welcoming, friendly host who made sure we had what we needed.
