I had a good stay in the female-only dorm. The bedroom and bathroom were clean, the AC was cool, and the staff were friendly. The flush didn’t seem to work quite right, and you can hear traffic from outside since it’s on the main street. There’s laundry and other services available, just ask the staff. Prices are affordable and it worked well for a solo traveler. The location is very strategic, right on the main street.

The room was just enough space for two, and the bathroom was clean with hot water working very well. They don’t provide towels or toiletries, so bring your own. There’s no room service, though I didn’t ask for any. The service was adequate for me during my four nights. The location is strategic, near several bus stops, a tram stop, and two MTR stations, Wan Chai and Exhibition Center.

The common area was really nice, and coffee, tea, and water were always available. I’d almost forgotten that staying in a hostel means bringing your own shampoo and soap. They provide a small towel, and you can buy everything else you need cheaply on top of the hotel price.

“I don’t care if you leave bad reviews, we’ll keep making money.” That’s what I was told. Avoid this place. As a world traveler, this was easily my worst hostel stay. I’d booked it after getting news that my father was on his deathbed. I wanted company rather than a private Airbnb at an equal or lower price. At first I liked the atmosphere and the sense of togetherness. Then a woman at the front desk got rude, said my luggage stunk, and told me I wasn’t welcome anymore. They accused me of drinking too much and being rude, though everyone else was drinking and even playing instruments. They wouldn’t let me book again, leaving me to look for somewhere else during Christmas and New Year. I contacted the owner, but a male front desk person seemed to pretend to be him and backed up his colleague’s decision to throw me out and not let me return. I’d left my laptop charger there, and they wouldn’t spend more than 2-3 minutes looking for it while pressuring me to leave. When I said I’d write a negative review, they said they didn’t care because they’d already made too much money from the place and my review would mean nothing. The hostel has high ratings on booking sites, though many reviews seem to come from the owners and staff. The two people at the front desk were extremely rude and unprofessional. Avoid it.
