Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong

We had a spacious, clean room with an unobstructed Harbour view, and a lovely place to walk was right across the street: the Avenue of the Stars along the water. The hotel is decorated for the Year of the Horse at the moment. Omar gave us a helpful dining suggestion, and staff were attentive, often anticipating what we needed. There are plenty of other places to eat nearby. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet, a little al fresco dining at the Tapas Bar, and a cocktail in the hotel lobby. Taxis were easy to find, and the Star Ferry Terminal was about a 15-minute walk away for getting to Central Hong Kong.

Everything felt easy and relaxing during our stay at Kowloon Shangri-La. The room was quiet and comfortable, with nice attention to detail, and the whole hotel was spotless and well maintained. It felt luxurious without being unwelcoming. Staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help. The location worked well for reaching the waterfront and nearby spots. A high-quality stay from beginning to end, and I'd gladly come back and recommend it.

After many years away, I came back to the Shangri-La Kowloon for the New Year holidays and was delighted by the stay. I used to visit often for business over 30 years ago, and had wondered if the hotel would feel dated after staying at many other places in Hong Kong. We had a top-floor Harbor View room with a spectacular vista. The decor isn't ultra-modern, but everything was very well kept and quiet, and the bed was large and comfortable. The location is hard to beat, and staff were incredibly attentive. Our Horizon Club access came with a great selection. Since it was the holiday season, though, it got busy and we had to wait at times for breakfast and evening cocktails. The highlight was New Year's Eve dinner at Angelini. We weren't sure about Italian fine dining in Hong Kong, but the meal was fantastic and very high quality, with a matching price tag. I'll definitely book the Shangri-La Kowloon again for my next trip.

Amber Lee was so welcoming and sweet when we checked in. The porters and room-cleaning staff were great too. We spent three nights here as a family and would definitely stay again next time we're in Hong Kong. The rooms were spacious and had everything we needed. The air conditioning worked fine, and we could warm the room with it, which kept the kids comfortable. The location is amazing. We loved the churros place nearby, and there's a children's playground right across the street.
