After I paid, I was told the room was full and that I needed to cancel. The man on the phone said I could still come, but that the place was full of people. When I asked about getting a refund, he said I had to meet him in person. I tried asking for details, but he kept saying we needed to meet to work it out, then suddenly said it was okay and he'd “accommodate me” without explaining how. Maybe it was just a system mistake, but the whole thing left me with a bad feeling. I managed to cancel through Expedia and am still waiting for my refund.

Denis sorted out a small check-in problem quickly, and the apartment itself was a lovely find. It's right in the centre of old town Split, just a few minutes from the promenade. The main bus station, where the airport shuttle stops, is about a 15-minute walk. The bed was comfortable, and we had everything we needed, with extra towels and blankets as well. It felt like a home away from home.

The apartment was small, but it had everything we needed and was well equipped. I loved the exposed stone inside, and the bed was clean and comfortable. The shower stayed hot and had strong water pressure whenever we used it. Denis was friendly and accommodating, and even welcomed us with a bottle of wine. It's in a brilliant spot near Split's promenade, bars, shops and restaurants. Thanks, Denis!

Our ferry wasn't until 13.00, even though we checked out at 10, and the owner let us leave our bags in the room until we were ready to go. His wife was there when we came back for them, and she was lovely and gave us a little leaving gift. The room was small but had everything we needed, and the location was great for bars and restaurants. Our flight was delayed, but Denis stayed up late to check us in and was really nice. We'd book again if we return to Split.
