Apel made each morning special, keeping everything spotless and cooking a fantastic breakfast. The kids were all about his pancakes, while we looked forward to the fruit platter. Breakfast costs the ingredients plus 20%, and it’s a lovely way to start the day. The whole team made our stay great, and we hope to return. We spent six nights at Villa Aquila. The living area worked perfectly, and the spacious rooms were clean and comfortable. Outside, there’s a huge pool with both shallow and deeper areas for swimming, a well-kept lawn, and gorgeous frangipani in the courtyard. It’s an easy walk to the main dining strip. The Basil cafe next door is handy for coffee or a quick meal, with a convenience store across the road and massage places nearby.

The pool was lovely, and there are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. The villa’s living, dining, and kitchen areas are fully enclosed. The location, amenities, and staff were all excellent, and everyone connected with the villa did all they could for us.

There’s a lot close by, from the mart across the road to nail and beauty services, a barber, massage places, and restaurants serving Japanese and Korean barbecue. Basil kitchen is right behind the villa, and several other restaurants are less than a minute away. Seminyak Village/Square is about a 20-minute walk. We’ve stayed at Aquila twice and have no complaints. It’s beautiful, spacious, clean, and has a really big pool. The location is another big plus, and we’ll keep coming back.

The upstairs bedrooms could use a lot of work. The toilet seats are cracked, the ceiling fan doesn’t run properly, and the air conditioning rattles. The beds sit very low. I liked the firm mattress, though others in our group didn’t. Streaming on the TV was good, and the internet was very fast. Downstairs was very good, and the service was exceptional, apart from the laundry. It took more than 24 hours and arrived just 30 minutes before checkout. The villa was good, but didn’t feel as luxurious as advertised.

Apel took such great care of us, making breakfast each morning with a big smile, and the villa was cleaned daily. It’s a short walk to Seminyak’s Main Street. A great place for a family or group, and I’d highly recommend staying here.
