My room was lovely and cosy, and the staff were really nice, but the pool being out of use and the location left me disappointed. We’d chosen this hotel mainly for a relaxing time by the pool, and it was empty when we arrived. Nobody told us beforehand, after we’d had a long day of travel and were looking forward to getting in. I’d also asked for late check-in because my flight was so late, but got no reply on Booking.com. When I asked on arrival, they said no. That was really disappointing, and honestly, I would have stayed somewhere else if I’d known.

We stayed in room 203 from March 4-6, and it was a terrible experience. Mold covered the wall around the window, making the room feel unhealthy and unpleasant. The air conditioning didn’t cool it at all. The shower swung between boiling and freezing, with no comfortable setting, and the water pressure was very weak. The pool was also out of service, and we only found out at check-in, even though relaxing by it was a main reason we picked this hotel. They offered no compensation, such as breakfast or a room upgrade. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The room was spotless, smelled fresh and was cleaned daily. For the price, it’s a steal, and the amenities are complete: toiletries, bottled water, coffee and tea, a kettle and a fridge. The location is perfect, close to lots of eateries and souvenir shops. Everyone made my first solo trip easier and left me with a wonderful impression. The service was so friendly and helpful. Thanks to Bli Agus for securing my big souvenir box so well, the staff member who found me a spare box and scissors, and the kind lady who lent me tape and markers. Thank you all so much!

We stayed eight nights because it was affordable, and I’d happily return. The place is relaxing, with superb air conditioning, a comfortable bed and a clean room serviced daily. The on-site restaurant serves lovely food late into the evening. The hotel gives out 10% discount vouchers for it, though they’re essentially worth nothing. It suits solo travelers and couples alike. I thought it might be out of the way, but it’s a short walk to everything, with pubs, eateries, laundry and plenty of convenience stores nearby. Legian’s busy area is easy to reach. The hotel doesn’t show up on GRAB maps, which point to the neighboring Happy Studio instead. Peeling paint shows how high the September flood reached and inundated the lower levels. They’ve refurbished, and it’s back in business. The pool was often cloudy and was marked ‘closed for repairs’ on many days, but we still went in. I don’t think the staff knew how to backwash the filters. Watching someone pour fuming chlorine into the water and then cough from the fumes was unnerving. Safety in Bali feels a little different, or non-existent. The shower did the job, though it didn’t pin you against the wall. The electric kettle took forever, so don’t rush it. Staff use two-way radios that boom across the resort even though the office is 30m away, and they yell to each other from around the hotel.

We stayed five days, and the staff were so nice and helpful that I gave the hotel 3 stars, though I initially planned on 2. The location and service are very good, but management doesn’t seem to pay enough attention to guest comfort. I hope they improve. The room wasn’t clean. There was mold and peeling paint on the walls, dirty corners and literally a lot of mosquitoes. The lights were too dim. Shower pressure was very low, the groundwater felt slippery, and it was impossible to get properly clean. Hot water kept coming and going. We couldn’t use the pool because it was closed for maintenance, which still hadn’t finished during our five days there.
