Nur Guest House by Purely

The Sari Organic Trail starts in front of the guesthouse and is a gorgeous path through the rice paddies, with plenty of nice places to stop for food or a drink. There were even fireflies in the paddies opposite at night. Breakfast in the little pagodas over the pond was lovely, and despite expecting lots of mosquitos, there weren't many. The rooms were neat, clean, and spacious, and the large stone bath was lovely. There's also a delicious restaurant at the front of the hotel.

The pool is really nice and the location is good, but the rooms are small and feel a bit old. Hot water takes five minutes to come through. For what it is, the price is definitely too high.

We enjoyed our four nights at Ubud Guest House. The grounds are beautiful and close to everything, though the walk from the main road is a hard 5 minutes. You can also come by scooter, which I'd recommend. The pool was lovely for swimming, and we liked the drinks at monkey bar. The staff were friendly, attentive, and helped with all our requests. Our room got quite warm without a fan, and the A/C didn't feel adequate. They gave us a small pedestal fan, which made all the difference. We did lose power a few times when trying to use a hair dryer, and were told that too many appliances at once can cause it. They fixed it quickly and helped us out. Thanks for the hospitality!

There are only a small number of rooms, so the place felt very private. We never saw anyone else in the pool when we were using it. It feels secluded, yet central Ubud is a short walk away. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, though quite dark even with all the lights on. That didn't take much away from the stay. The restaurant is excellent, with amazing food at a cheap price. Its little booths sit over a pond among beautiful tropical plants, and the setting is so serene. Staff were always friendly and attentive. The resort stays very quiet away from the road, but the jungle animal sounds were loud at night. I loved them, though my girlfriend struggled a bit and had to wear earplugs. One thing to know is that it's not on a road. The walk from the road takes around 5-10 minutes. You can get a bike taxi if needed, but we actually liked walking. I'd absolutely recommend staying here in Ubud.
