Hotel Jagannath International Dumdum

I ended up here because of an emergency, and I'm writing this from a place of pure regret. The so-called AC room was a cruel joke, with equipment as pathetic as the rest of the place. At night, cockroaches came out of the shadows and marched across the walls and floor. The beds were covered in unidentifiable stains, and the floor was dusty, hairy, and sticky enough that walking barefoot felt like asking for a disease. The grime hits you as soon as you enter. Calling it a hotel feels like a generous lie, just a festering monument to neglect and filth. Find a park bench, sleep in your car, or do anything else to avoid it.

The food tasted good, but even the utensils weren't clean. They don't clean the rooms, and the washroom was dirty. At night they charge passengers high amounts of money, taking advantage of them. A very bad experience.

Pretty basic for a budget hotel, but the atmosphere was peaceful.

There was a bad smell in the room, and when I asked for room freshener, they didn't respond. The AC remote wasn't working, so they had it set to 19 degrees, which was too cold. I arrived at 11 am and was charged Rs 299/- for early check-in, even though they had told us to come at 11 and that they'd provide a room.
