The bed was very comfortable, the sheets were clean, and the air conditioning worked fine once we figured out how to use it. The pool was usable, and someone cleaned up debris soon after we got into the water. The power failed a couple of times, though not for long. We were surprised to discover that the room key controls the room’s power, so everything shuts off when you leave. That may not matter much in February, but could be a big problem in hotter months. We ended up here in February 2020 because our original nearby hotel was overbooked. For a brand new hotel, the service was below par and needs a lot of improvement. During our four days, the room was never cleaned. The tile baseboards were already badly stained, the floors weren’t properly cleaned, and items weren’t replenished unless we asked. There were only two white towels when we arrived. When we asked for more, we got multicolored ones, some ragged at the edges. The TV wouldn’t work without a set top box, which the room didn’t have. We requested one and got a box with only Hindi programming and no children’s programs. When we asked for an English box, they said none were available because they’d been given to other guests, even though the hotel wasn’t full. We didn’t eat at the hotel after a disappointing first encounter. We tried to get a late breakfast just after the buffet closed, but were told none of the buffet food could be bought à la carte, even though they’d only just finished clearing it. We found a great nearby restaurant called the Travelers Inn and ate all our meals there. The food is absolutely amazing. Overall, the hotel wasn’t bad, but a new place like this needs more staff training and inspection.

I stayed two days at this newly opened property. The facilities were fine, and you can reach the beach in less than 2 kms. There are two ways to get to the hotel. The restaurant gets crowded in the morning as people head out, but lunch and dinner times are quieter. It would help if the owner put a sign on the main road so customers could find the place easily. It’s affordable, and yes, I’d recommend this hotel.

We arrived late in the evening. The rooms were good, but the customer service was very poor. When I asked about food, they gave me a menu from a restaurant and told me to order there, so it didn’t seem like they had their own kitchen. I’m particular about cleanliness, and the rooms looked unkempt, with used linen. There were two of us, but we were assigned a queen bed. When we asked for separate beds, they said we hadn’t mentioned it at booking. Fair enough, but in a service business they could have checked our needs when we booked instead of blaming us. I had to sleep on the sofa that evening. Very disappointing.

I loved staying at Max Lords. The staff were kind and helpful, and the room was serviced daily. It’s in a peaceful area, and they can arrange a rented vehicle, which was useful. There’s no restaurant, so you can order through zomato or swiggy. I’d recommend booking with breakfast included.
