The food was a highlight for me, with rich, delicious flavors and a homely feel. The staff were very polite, helpful, and well behaved, and our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. I stayed at The Shelter Heritage, Srinagar with my wife during our Kashmir trip. Its authentic local Kashmiri heritage atmosphere made it feel special and different from a regular hotel. A perfect place to stay in Srinagar, and definitely worth it. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kashmir.

The stay was enjoyable thanks to the warm hospitality. The package deal was okay, but the driver arranged through them seemed nice and relaxed until the local sightseeing, where he made some bad deals with local vendors. I’d only do the horse ride if you actually want to. They may tell you it’s required to see the valley sights, but don’t get drawn into negotiations with the driver in the parking lot or the prices local agents offer. Take a walk and enjoy the scenery.

The location was close to major attractions, and the atmosphere felt calm and peaceful. Our room was cosy, spotless, and very comfortable. The staff were wonderfully welcoming and helpful, and the receptionist, Mr Aijaz, was especially friendly and helpful. It felt like a home away from home, and it’s the best hotel experience I’ve had, fabulous in every way.
