Hotel Ashoka International By OYO Rooms

The curtains in the room weren't clean, and the dustbin was too small. There was rust in the washbasin water, no hot water, and hygiene and maintenance were a real letdown. Very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

I spent nearly 8 hours without electricity at Ashoka International Hotel in Surat. There was no backup or clear explanation. When I asked for help, the rude, careless staff just told me to “wait” and did nothing. The place felt badly managed and unhygienic. This was one of the worst stays I've had. Don't waste your money here. It shouldn't even get one star.

There was no generator or light backup, and the hotel wasn't clean. With no lights and no hot water, the place didn't meet even basic needs. I had to check out at 12am because of the power issue. The owner's behavior was very indecent, and Nitesh wouldn't answer calls from either staff or clients. The service was pathetic. I wouldn't advise anyone to stay, especially families. I can't even give it stars, but I'm posting so people know the service falls below basic hotel standards.

We booked Ashoka International for 6 days in Surat while traveling to a religious gathering. The owner asked for 50% at booking, which seemed fair. On arrival, a rat was scurrying around the reception desk. The receptionist gave an apologetic smile, then asked for the remaining full payment at check-in. The room we were shown wasn't the one we'd booked, and its washbasin was choked. Since we arrived at night, they said they'd repair it in the morning. We insisted on a different room, and eventually they showed us another one. Breakfast the next morning was burnt parathas. They were short staffed, with one person doing several jobs. On day 3, a generator problem caused a power failure that left us without electricity for 8 hours at night. Power came back partially at 2 in the morning, enough for the fans to start, but there was another outage at 4.30. We barely slept, and the next day was ruined. We argued with the owner about a refund, packed up, and checked out immediately. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
