Varanasi Paradise

This is basically a house with three rooms and a hall, not a hotel. There’s seepage in the rooms. It shouldn’t cost more than Rs. 600 a night, but they charge Rs. 2400. Goroomgo pvt. Ltd. are cheaters. A railway dormitory is better than this.

Mr. Sumit Singh, the owner, is nice, friendly, and cooperative, and Bipul is a good guy. But only Bipul was attending to all the guests, so the hotel seems short on staff. We stayed with family from 2nd to 4th December, 2023 and booked five rooms. There’s no lift, so reaching the third floor means using the stairs. Most of the toilets had non-working geysers, leaving an immersion rod as the only option. Getting to the Biswanath temple or city center isn’t easy. We had to travel 4kms by Auto and Toto from the hotel each time, though there is good parking space in its own compound. Food was another issue: there’s no restaurant at the property, and no nearby restaurant serving meals at a reasonable price. Overall, I’m giving it 3 stars. 🙏

This place feels like a school converted into a hotel, and it’s very poor. We decided to cancel our booking after seeing its wretched condition, but they didn’t return our advance. We had paid directly into their own account after their repeated calls. They’re just fooling people. Never go there.

My booking was for 9AM, but I didn’t get a room until 3:30PM and spent the time sitting at reception. There was no drinking water or cleaning, no lift, a damaged AC, and the TV didn’t work. Only one staff member was there, and he was rarely available even after I called 10 times. Mr. Varun was irresponsible and rude, threatened guests, and behaved in a ridiculous way. Completely the worst place to stay.
