The farm setting is lovely, and the horses are there to greet you when you arrive. The guest houses were comfortable and had what we needed to cook and live in. It's a short drive from the main town, so we could pick up groceries before heading up. A quiet, comfortable stay.

The setting is beautiful, but our cabin was the dirtiest place we stayed on the trip. There was sugar all over the table, mold in the shower, and hair and dirt everywhere. We were also disappointed to find two single beds. Booking through Expedia was a mess. We were supposed to hear from them 24 hours before arrival, but got no message. At the property, there was a house marked “private residence” and no office. The listed phone went unanswered, as did our WhatsApp calls and messages. The front door showed that three of the four cabins were assigned to other guests, so we took the one that was missing from the assignments. Nobody ever messaged us, called back, or came by. The lack of service was really disappointing.

We stayed three nights and were a bit sad to leave. The cabins were cosy and comfortable, with everything we needed, and it was a great place to relax. Being on our own away from the city meant hardly any light pollution, so the night sky and northern lights were beautiful. A really peaceful base on Iceland's eastern side.

We saw the northern lights from the house, thanks to how remote and quiet it is. The houses were clean and so well supplied that we had everything from cooking things to toiletries. Check-in and check-out were easy and contactless. Loved it.
