The place was a little hard to find, but clean and quiet for a night before or after a flight. Check-in was automated, with a named envelope containing the keys, and it worked fine at 1:30 AM. The room had the basics. I just wish there were more power outlets.

A rude, careless guy went through my luggage far too aggressively. With the airport empty and no rush, he could at least have asked before opening my bag and searching it. It left me with a bad last impression of a country that’s usually very welcoming.

The bathroom floor had cigarette burns even though the room was marked non-smoking. Otherwise, it was a basic room, a bit like a college dorm, but quiet, and check-in was easy. It’s out in the middle of nowhere, though close to the airport, and made a good stop for our 10 AM flight out of Iceland. For the location and price, I’d stay again for a night or two.

At the airport, you need to print your luggage sticker, go to the special line, scan it, and put your bag on the belt. Then you can head to customs and enjoy the duty-free shops while you wait.

Self check-in is really convenient. It’s the cheapest hotel around, but the rooms are still quiet and medium-sized. There’s also a cozy shared area with a TV, coffee, microwave, fridge, and orange juice.
