Candlewood Suites Reykjavik by IHG

The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating, and the location made it easy to walk to Reykjavik’s main attractions. There’s also a bus stop very close by. Candlewood Suites is a beautiful, new hotel, with a lovely bathroom, comfortable beds and a kitchenette stocked with all the cookware you need. I had a great stay and would book again.

Bus stop 13 is a one-minute walk away, making it handy for tour pickups. Euromarket and Bonus are nearby for groceries, and the waterfront is about five minutes away, a nice place to go for the northern lights. The staff were great and helpful. We stayed five nights in January. Everything in the room was new, and the kitchen had a stove, dishwasher, plenty of dishes and cooking utensils, plus a coffee maker with round cloth pads, a kettle and a toaster. The tea selection was limited, so bring your own tea bags. The beds were comfortable. Our view was of a parking lot because of our rate category, so you’ll need to pay more for a better view if that matters to you. There’s no daily housekeeping, and you have to ask for coffee pods each day. We’d stay here again and recommend it.

The staff made our stay a real pleasure. They were welcoming, available, friendly and full of useful advice. The rooms were cozy and beautifully decorated, with perfect bedding and a quiet, restful atmosphere. We spent four nights here. It’s a very good base for exploring Reykjavik and the country, with a more than reasonable price and a great location.

We’d had an incredibly long day of flights and were exhausted, so the staff immediately tried to arrange an early check-in and were very friendly about it. Their service was some of the best I’ve experienced at a hotel anywhere. The room was really nice and seemed newly remodeled, and it’s extremely close to downtown. I couldn’t be happier.
