The owners got in touch before we arrived and explained how to access our room. When we left, my daughter had forgotten her gloves and hat there, and the owner contacted us and arranged to send them to Sweden. Thank you so much! It’s a very nice guesthouse in a quiet area, still close to the central city.

We really enjoyed our stay at Guesthouse Galtafell. The rooms were quiet and felt safe, with good heating and a large bathroom. We visited in late February 2026 and had no trouble finding free street parking nearby. On the first night, the shower water wouldn’t drain properly. We emailed, and it was fixed within hours, though nobody let us know; we found out when we bumped into the cleaner. Communication could have been better, but otherwise we enjoyed the stay and appreciated the hospitality.

We even saw the northern lights during our stay. The guesthouse rooms were great, the beds really comfortable, and the location is perfect for walking around the city.

Thorey and her husband made us feel especially welcome, and even let us leave our luggage after checkout while we went on a day trip. My partner and I really enjoyed staying at Guesthouse Galtafell. The place was very clean, with great amenities and a spacious bathroom.

We found it just right for our three nights. The building looks lovely from outside, and although our room was a bit quirky, it was clean and did what we needed. The beds were comfortable, as was the sofa for my cheeky afternoon nap. Check-in and checkout were easy, with no hassle.
