Center Hotels Klöpp

This was my second stay, and I’m already planning another. The hotel isn’t the fanciest or biggest, but the cleanliness, location and staff make it fantastic. At the front desk, Rushka and Farooq are first class, and nothing is too much trouble. Farooq even asked me to say he was the handsome guy. The night staff and housekeeping are great too. There’s no bar in the hotel, but there are plenty nearby. I don’t see that as a downside, and it adds to the charm. Bus stops 14 and 6 are both about 300 metres away. Breakfast is a typical European spread: meats, cheese, bread, porridge, eggs, tea, coffee and fruit juice. I love this hotel.

Our room was huge and the bed was comfy, in a central location that was absolutely perfect. The reception staff were so warm and friendly, remembered our names, and gave us amazing tips for places to visit with our 2 year old daughter. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was really nice, with some options changing from day to day. We’ll definitely return.

The rooms are small and basic, but fine if you mainly need somewhere to sleep. They’re not very soundproof, so you may hear the bar across the street late at night, especially on weekends. It’s a nice hotel in an ideal downtown spot, close to the shops on Laugavegur and the bus stops. Reception was friendly and helped with our questions and requests during the stay.

We were in room 505, which was far enough from the street noise. Farooq was a great host, really friendly and full of knowledge about Iceland, even though he’s from West Yorkshire. The hotel is in a fantastic spot for bus stops, shopping in town and the nearby supermarket. I’d highly recommend it and would definitely stay again.
