We felt right at home during our two days in Vik. We didn’t meet the owners, but made friends with two of the three dogs, whose names are shown in a photo in the living room. The Spanish folklore tiles made me laugh since I’m from Spain, they were so random. Our private room had a view of the church and town. The hostel was much better than expected and great value. Whoever handles the cleaning deserves a raise, the room and toilets were sparkling, clean enough to eat off the floor. I saw two toilets with showers and another bathroom with three more toilets, and never had to wait. There’s a fully equipped kitchen and a dining room beside it with amazing views. Thanks for such a comfortable stay.

There’s a full kitchen in the house for making meals, and the rooms are comfortable. The best restaurants in town are only about two minutes away.

There were chickens, ducks, horses, dogs, and a cat around, and it was lovely to watch them and play with the dogs. The dorm and bathrooms were very clean, and the shared kitchen was useful and great. We never saw anyone at reception, but that wasn’t an issue at all, and self check-in worked really well. We loved our stay at vik hi hostel!

There was clearly effort put into making House 1 nice, but the basics were badly lacking. The mattresses had mould and dirt, the heating was poor, possibly because it was up at the ceiling, and the cooking area had no lights. Only one of the two cooking zones worked. At €350 a night, I’d rather forget this visit.

August was busy, and our room in the basement was small for four people, with a very low ceiling. There was one bathroom per floor, though I didn’t have to wait long. The hostel has a nice atmosphere and is a good fit if you enjoy meeting people. The bathrooms were clean, and breakfast was really good, the best I’ve had at a hostel. The waffle was delicious. My friends and I had a good time here.
