The ride up to Paradiso is part of the experience in winter. If you don’t ski, the hotel’s driver takes you over steep, winding roads covered in snow, with views that give you a taste of what’s waiting above. At the top, the place feels calm and modern, with a thoughtfully curated collection of modern art that gives it a lot of character. It’s more like a mountain gallery than a traditional alpine refuge. Vegan food clearly matters here. It’s part of the philosophy, not just a token choice. I had an outstanding vegan sandwich, full of flavor and carefully balanced, with homemade kombucha. Easily one of the best vegan lunches I’ve had anywhere. They’re dog friendly, too, which adds to the relaxed, welcoming feel. Between the ride, the art, the food, and the setting, Paradiso is a destination in itself, well beyond just somewhere to eat or stay.

When my wife was injured skiing and needed to go to the hospital in Bressanone, the hotel helped us far more than I expected. That alone almost makes me wish I could give a sixth star. We stayed in the cheapest room and didn’t miss anything. The balcony looked out over the slopes, and the wellness area had everything you’d want in a hotel for skiing or hiking. It wasn’t large, but it never felt crowded. There are three different saunas and a swimming pool, plus a whirlpool with a great view of Sassolungo, which is reason enough for five stars. The drivers to and from Compatsch were friendly and helpful with our luggage. The staff were kind and the food and drinks were great. Breakfast always had something new, and I couldn’t find a dish on the five-course dinner menu that was less than good. Even when I didn’t like an ingredient, the dish still tasted excellent, which says a lot about the kitchen. A couple of dinner services felt slow to us, and the five-course menu took a while. It’s not a cheap hotel, but you get a lot for the money. This was the best hotel experience I’ve had, and we hope to come back.

Set right beside the ski slopes in the Italian Alps, this is a unique hotel with a fantastic spa. There’s a pool, saunas, a chill-out area, and a special floating bed. Try the outdoor jacuzzi at night under the stars, the contrast between the hot water and cold air is great. The staff were friendly, knew the area well, and looked after us. Breakfast had a good range of choices. Dinner is all vegan, which made for a nice change and a bit of a detox. I’d strongly recommend it.

The food was why we picked Paradiso, and it was so good it left us speechless. Everything was vegan. Breakfast was a buffet with so much variety that even though I eat a lot, I couldn’t try everything. Some dishes changed each day. At lunch, there were a la carte options and pizza, all high quality and tasty. Most portions were fair for a day skiing, though the mushroom risotto felt smaller than I expected. It was still one of the best risottos I’ve ever had. Dinner was a new experience every day, with a nicely presented, delicious five-course menu. There was a decent choice of wine and drinks, plus many types of kombucha. Omnia restaurant is another must try, but needs to be booked separately in advance. Its vegan fine dining takes things to another level. We stayed January 4-11 for a skiing holiday. Paradiso lived up to its name: a paradise for vegans and vegetarians, and for anyone curious and open minded enough to try delicious vegan food or enjoy a relaxing holiday. Staff were professional, friendly, and helpful, and we felt very comfortable there. The hotel and rooms were always very clean, with a good range of room types. The wellness area was amazing, with saunas, a pool, and a jacuzzi. The hotel sits right on a ski slope in a calmer part of Seiser Alm, with beautiful views and good links to the other slopes. Val Gardena is easy to reach by ski bus. The slopes were well prepared, mostly blue and red with a few black runs within two chair lifts. There were relaxing routes and more sporty ones, with harder runs available via a good ski bus connection in Val Gardena. We rarely had to wait for lifts. It was one of our best skiing holidays, and we’ll definitely return.

We visited in summer and plan to come back. The location, views, service, and food were all wonderful. The family’s hospitality made us feel like we never wanted to leave. We loved the grounds, the building, the staff, and the whole stay. I highly recommend it for a delicious, energizing holiday in the Dolomites.
